Asgharnezhadnamini

Santuor performer, Educator, and keeper of a living tradition.

Based in Toronto, Masoud Asgharnezhadnamini is a musician whose practice spans nearly three decades of performing and teaching Iranian classical music. He founded Hamseda Music Academy in Tehran in 2010 and has taught at university level, guiding hundreds of students through the depth and subtlety of Persian music. Now building new roots in Toronto, he continues to teach santour and explore dialogue between Persian classical tradition and contemporary sound.
Most recently in collaboration with artist Kasra Faridi on Csound and Santour.
